University of Cyprus · January 2027
Greek B1 for the Cyprus citizenship exam.
Ordinary naturalisation needs B1. The School of Modern Greek at the University of Cyprus is holding the next certificate exams in Nicosia from 11–29 January 2027. This page is for that sitting: a short sprint if you are already near B1, and a longer track if you are not.
The university’s dates
On the school’s site, registration for the January 2027 exams (A1–C2, Nicosia, 11–29 January 2027) opens on 2 November 2026, 09:00 Cyprus time and stays open until 30 November 2026, 23:59 Cyprus time, or until places fill, whichever comes first. The published B1 fee is €90, paid to the university through JCC. That fee is theirs, not part of the lesson price. The exact exam day, time, and room are emailed by the university after registration closes.

The B1 group is Mondays and Wednesdays at 21:00, from 1 December 2026. Eight lessons will not invent a B1 from nothing. They are a sprint: opinion, work, and the kind of Greek the exam and a conversation both ask for. Sit the placement test if you are not sure.
Starting from A1 or A2
Beginners should not book January as if it were a finish line. A1 meets at 19:00 and A2 at 20:00, same days, from 1 December 2026. The university also holds exams in the first half of September. Use this term to build toward a later sitting. If A2 is the certificate you need, the dates and the format are on the A2 exam page.
€180 locked until 30 November
Enrol by 30 November 2026 and the eight-lesson pack stays €180, paid once. That is €22.50 a lesson, €20 less than eight separate lessons at €25. One group lesson is €25. Private 1:1 is €45. Groups are 4–6 students, 50 minutes, online. Sending two or more people from the same firm? The pack is €160 per person, invoiced after we place the group. Corporate rate.

Questions
Will these lessons get a beginner through the January 2027 B1 exam?

Do you issue the B1 certificate?
No. The certificate comes from the School of Modern Greek at the University of Cyprus, after you register and sit their exam. We teach the Greek. The exam fee is paid to the university, not to us.
