Curriculum

What each group learns.

Week by week, for the A1, A2, and B1 classes. Two live lessons a week, Monday and Wednesday, Cyprus time.

Christmas break: no lessons 27 Dec 2026 – 3 Jan 2027. Lessons resume Monday 4 January.

How groups open

  • A1 starts at week 1 on the 2nd of each month. The next A1 group starts Wed 2 Dec 2026.
  • A2 and B1 are rolling: you join at the start of any 4-week block once the free placement test shows you're ready. A one-off private lesson (€45) is available to catch up on anything earlier in the course.
  • A group runs once at least 3 people have signed up. If fewer sign up, you start with the next group or take private lessons until it opens, and your credit is carried over.

A1 Beginner: Greek from zero

Mon & Wed · 19:00 · 50 min · 12 weeks · 24 lessons

Book A1

Course materials included: the Ελληνικά Α΄ coursebook is sent to you once you sign up, with lifetime access to all course resources.

This level follows «Ελληνικά Α΄» (Patakis), Introduction to Unit 10.

Overview
In 12 weeks you go from the alphabet to real everyday conversations. We follow the first half of the coursebook «Ελληνικά Α΄» unit by unit: reading and pronunciation, introducing yourself, family and work, getting around, your daily routine, and shopping for food and clothes. Every week mixes speaking, listening, reading and writing, and two review weeks check your progress. By the end you can handle simple everyday situations in Cyprus in Greek and you are ready for A2.
Who it's for
Complete beginners, or people who know a few words but can't yet read Greek or build a sentence. Ideal if you live in Cyprus and want to cope with daily life, or if you are starting the road to the A2 exam for long-term residence.
Entry requirement
None. You don't need to know the Greek alphabet.
By the end of the course
You can read and write Greek, introduce yourself, talk about your family, work, home and routine, use buses and shops, tell the time and handle prices. This is CEFR A1, the first half of what the Ellinomatheia A2 exam (needed for long-term residence) expects. The next step is our A2 group, which finishes the coursebook and prepares you for that exam.

The coursebook is set in Greece; in class we add Cyprus examples (places, transport, services) alongside it.
